This is a short loop hike using the mint wash, mint wash connector, chimbley water and westlake trails in the Granite Basin rec area. This is about 3 miles long with good views of Granite and Little Granite mountain.

Hiked out trial 316 to the forest boundary. Forest Service trail guide says 1.5 miles, think it was more like 1. Then took trial 317 to 315 and back to the parking lot. 3 miles all together. Great views of Thumb Butte, Granite Mountain, Little Granite and eve the San Francisco Peaks on an overcast and cool day.
