BSA troop 869 backpack trip. Started at Firstwater hiked to LaBarge Canyon and back. Originally planned to camp in LaBarge Box, but with weather forecast of rain we opted to camp overnight on Secondwater trail instead. Caught a little rain on the way out Sunday, but overall was a great hike.

We set out to hike from the First Water Trailhead to Boulder Canyon, but parking was backed up to the overflow lot. So we decided to drive back to the Massacre Grounds trailhead and there was only one other truck at the trailhead. Beautiful hike with great views of the Supes and some water along the trail. Extremely peaceful with only the sounds of the trickling water and no one else on the trail. Massacre Falls were still running to a mild degree and the views were gorgeous.

First trip to Havasu Falls, after looking at all the beautiful pictures all of these years. The pictures as beautiful as they are can not do justice to the real thing. Went backpacking with my son and his Boy Scout troop. This was their longest backpacking trip so far and they all loved it. We will have to make this an annual trek. Camped next to the river, very peaceful (except for the racoons :-)
