| no partners | | this was a very beautiful hike. my girlfriend and i are still ametuers, and bit off more than we could chew. before the hike we understood by a few sources that the hike was 4 miles in, so we packed accordingly. after about the 6 mile mark we were running very low on water. after the grassy meadow before the final descent we took a break, and was not sure how close we were to the creek. i so i took a look around to see if i could find a lil water to insure we had enough, luckily i found a few very small pools of water. i pumped out about a half gallon, and then back on our way we went. We learned many lessons that day, and are gonna start a lil smaller from here and work our way up.i'm still sore to this day. on a brighter note the hike was awesome, swimming in the canyon was a huge relief after the 95 degree weather we faced on the way in. there was alot of wildlife on the way in many species of humming birds and lizards. in the pool there was an abundance of crawdads and fish. I'm glad i found this site, its much more reliable than all the others. |
