I started out at 6am and took my time shooting pictures and just enjoying the views. We stayed at an amazing backcountry campsite on the West part of the loop. The weather was perfect. This is a spectacular area. I have a bunch more photos that I will still be posting.. somehow my photos showed up on the list before I was ready with all of them..

Much thanks to Te-wa for a top notch adventure along one of Arizona's finest high country streams!

It was a beautiful day and we got to meet Kurt & Sally and Anne and Angela and Tim for the first time. All super fun people to hike with..

We got a little wet wadeing waist deep at points..
Poor Anne got her camera wet on the way and it died.
But not to be out done I accidentally slipped and got my Canon G9 wet on the way out and now it is an EXPENSIVE paper weight too.. Is there a shrine for hikers cameras that die?

Still, it was a great event. Plus now I have a good excuse to upgrade to a Canon G10 :D

Thanks again.

Great time.. We Hiked up See Canyon and camped at Bear Canyon Lake and then hiked back down See Canyon on day 2.
See Canyon has a few areas where you have to watch for the Cairns and markers.. One point along the trail we spent about 45 minutes looking for the next marker.. The story goes like this.. We did the normal thing.. looking for the next cairn and sure enough found it and then we found a metal marker on a tree and then there was nothing! Well it turns out that the marker on the tree was crazy so we reluctantly backtracked one marker at a time until it all made sense.. wasted about 45 minutes and drained everyone's energy.
It was great meeting Mike, Steven & Bob at the top.. HAZ's finest!
On our way down, we got rained on but it was wonderful.. a perfect rain for a perfect hike

This is the first BP trip with a HikeAZ.com group.

I asked my wife Sharon if she would be interested and to my delight she was.

Niether of us had done any training this year to speak of so I was pretty concerned about being able to reach Manning camp before nightfall. We started at 05:30 and arrived at Manning camp exactly at 4PM so we planned it perfect. The hike was ten miles beginning at Miller Creek trail, following Heartbreak ridge all the way to Manning camp. Elevation gain went from 4200 min to 8200 max. The next day we hiked down the Turkey creek trail.

The pictures should tell the REAL story of how awesome of trip this was!

I have no idea what would be a reasonable time for this trail but I would reserve at leat 5 or 6 hours (round trip from trail head to bath tub springs and back again). I was interested in taking pictures so I took ten hours since I stopped frequently. The colors were well worth the trip. Miller Canyon is a spectacular trail. Lots of running water and shade. At the end of the trail the elevation is 8500ft and there is a perfect place to enjoy a picnic lunch next to bath tub springs.
