This is an out and back trail, so the elevation gain of 319 feet in the trail description is a little misleading. Trail head elevation is 2,570, highest point is 2,889, but then you do some ups and downs before reaching trail's end at a 2,366 feet elevation. So now, returning, you're gonna do some more ups and downs before again reaching the 2,889 foot elevation; essentially, there's an elevation gain of 319 feet going out and 523 feet coming back, all in 1.75 miles each way. Smooth, well manicured trail but a solid workout never the less. |
