We went down to check out the reservoir levels for possible kayaking location. Both the upper and lower lakes are full. The trail is in decent shape in spite of the recent weather.

WOW! this is one beautiful hike. Awesome views. We failed in our attempt to get to peak 7626. After wandering around among boulders and manzanitas for an hour or so we gave up and went to the end of trail 261. Here we enjoyed lunch and the views and returned to the trailhead.
We did see two rattlesnakes on the way up.

I just explored the various trails on the south side of the mountain in the area between the 7th ave trailhead and the 15th ave trailhead. I went up nearly to the cloud nine location before running out of time.

Spence Creek East Trailhead to Thumb Butte.
Follow trail 9707S from the Spence Creek east trailhead for ~0.5 mi. then turn left on an unmarked trail that crosses Spence Creek. Follow this trail to the intersection with trail 332 and turn left. Follow trail 332 until you get to the old fireplace. Turn left here on an unmarked trail that follows Willow Creek. In about 0.2 miles there will be an unmarked trail to the right that connects with Trail #318 of the north Thumb Butte Trail System.

This trail has some of the most spectacular views of any in the Prescott area. It is made up of parts of Trail 366, 9407T, 327, 51, and 9401J. It is located in the area south of Thumb Butte. We started and ended at the 366 trailhead across the road form the Sierra Prieta Overlook.

It was a beautiful day in the low 70's. Still some snow in the shade.

We started from the new Potts Creek #327 Trailhead on FR51. We made a loop consisting of Trails 327,326, 322, 327, An unnamed connector trail, and 327.

Trail 327 is the former FR51 which has been closed to vehicular traffic and is now a portion of the Prescott Circle Trail.
FR 373A has also been closed and converted into an extension of Trail 327.
