Went out for a hike to enjoy the great afternoon weather. Park at the Meridian Trailhead and set out on the 8 mile loop around Pass Mountian. The first 2 miles are a steady climb of about 700 ft to the top of the Pass. The views in this section are great and with perfect temps. I was really enjoying myself. The second half of the loop proceeds around Pass Mountian and through Pass Mountian Park on the west side all while slowly rolling downhill with lots of wash crossings. The trail was easy to follow and made for a pleasant hike.

Went out to do a little exploring in the area. Started at the gate to Bushnell Tanks. Trail head was easy enough to find but find the right place to cross sycamore creek was another thing. I don't know if I would have found the right route out of the creek bed without my gps. In fact even with it I still took a side trail that dead ended in a scub oak thicket and had to fight though 100ft or so to the north till I found the right route. After crossing the creek and meeting up with the AZT the views are fantastic. Trail is easy to follow although I recommend long pants.(lots of pokey things. The second crossing of the creek can also be a little tricky although there are sings on both sides, but you do still have to hunt around a little. I stopped around the 5mi. mark had lunch and headed back. Hope to come back soon and finish the whole length of the trail.

Just a quick hike in to explore the area after a short hike on the Park Trail.

Was in the area for the weekend and thought I would do a little scouting around. Started out around 7a.m. and was short on time so I only did the first mile or so which was fine because it was already warm on the exposed ridge. The trail was a little faint in places but easy to follow for the most part.
