Got lost trying to find another trail head this morning, making us 3hrs behind schedule, back tracked and went to the all so familiar Butcher Jones Trail. Easy, light trail, but still very enjoyable! I always seem to forget just how beautiful it is on the lake!

Went with my fiance and our friend Richard. LOTS of people on trail that day. Did not bring my walking stick this time and regretted it!! Beautiful day out, warm at beginning of trail and needed a jacket at the top. This trail is one of my all time favorites :)

Camped over night in Payson and the drove up to Strawberry for some light hiking and fun in the springs. Only saw 2-3 groups of people out there, so it was nice and secluded. Water was a little chilly and took a min. to get used to. Beautiful day out either way!

Camped near the Hells Gate trailhead. Got up early in the morning to start the trail. About the first mile of the trail was tough. I just had surgery on my foot Sept. 09', fusing the first two joints, and the drastic change in incline and decline really turned out to be too much for my foot to handle. :( My bones and joints are still in the healing process for the next year, so once I've built my foot's stamina back up, I look foward to coming back here. Wound up driving up to Strawberry for some light hiking and fun in the springs for the rest of the day.

My boss told me this was a beautiful trail. Michael and I were watching my sister Jessica so we got up early and woke up to RAIN! It was so beautiful out there! We got pretty wet the first two hours we were out there. Slowly the sun started creeping out and warmed us up. We ran into this guy from Chicago on our way back to the car. His family lives out in Mesa and he said everytime he comes down to visit he heads to the Superstitions for some gold huntin. He was a crack up. Definately made the trip back more entertaining.

Went to do the Wind Cave trail with Michael, Natalie, Shanna and Sandy today. It was Natalie's first hike. She is 4 years old. It was SOOOOO packed today. With everyone being on Spring Break this week, there were so many kids out there. It took us a little over 3hrs. today with Natalie moving a lot slower than us. She did so well though. Most of the little kids we passed were whining and complaining. There were also a lot of really RED people. I think everyone left their sunscreen at home today!

On our way back down we see this young boy up ahead literally crawling up the rocks sobbing. A lot of people on the trail just stopped and stared at him. So we run up to him and he starts puking up water and dry heaving. Luckily Michael and Shanna are in the Army and knew what to do in case of heat stroke. Two other men came over to see what was going on and they were in the Air Force and Marine core. One of them found out the boys name and went a head to go find his paretns. We get the boy to drink some water and one of the men gives him some Gold Fish crackers and dried fruit. We kept trying to calm him down but every time he took a drink of water, he would throw it back up. FINALLY, about 15mins. later, his mom came up the trail with about a thousand other kids and parents. I dont know why people let their kids run off and do thier own thing on trails. Its so dangerous. Hopefully they decided to take the boy back down and get him cooled off properly and give him the medical attention he desprately needed. That was a scary experience but luckily there were people around that had the training to handle that situation.

Other than that experience, it was a very great hike. The flowers are a-bloomin; in a few weeks it will be even more beautiful! And it's starting to heat up out there!

What a beautiful day to go hiking! It had rained that morning, and sprinkled on us while we were out there. There were a few creeks to cross and we did get our shoes SOAKED! This is now one of my favorite trails. There was a small waterfall towards the end of the trail. It was very green out and you can see where all the flowers are going to be blooming soon!

Did the Butcher Jones Trail acouple weeks ago. It was such a beautiful day out! It had rained the day before so it was really cool out. And since it was the beginning of the week, there were not very many people out there. We went all the way to the end of the trail and then went to the shoreline access that was a quarter of a mile away, but seemed like a lot less. Then we went back and went to the Burro Cove trail. This was a total waste of time. The whole trail was really over grown and once we got all the way to the end, you couldnt even see the water because all the trees were so thick. The most interesting thing we saw was an old Air Jordan shoe someone left behind.

Other than the Burro Cove trip, it was a wonderful day!

Just wanted to go on a short hike. Flowers are getting ready to bloom. I'll bet it will be beautiful in a few weeks.

Went up to Usery Pass to take some pictures for Christmas cards. It was an easy hike. Not a whole lot to look at on the way up, but once we reached the wind caves we could look out across the valley. It was a cloudy and a little rainy when we went so it was really cool when we reached the caves.
