Saw 2 other people the whole day! Difficult but dooable. It was really warm on this trip, but with bouncing in and out of the forest it was ok. Loved the history on this trail! If anyone has any additional info on the mines and cemetery please let me know.

Clean good flowing water

Lots of water in Barks Canyon and near Crystal Spring. Camped just above Crystal Spring. A bobcat came near our tent in the night and walked up and down the creek crying but that was our only visitor. One other backpacker there. A few day hikers along the way. Good easy overnight. 7miles day 1. 3 day 2. We went counter clockwise for a more relaxing, easy trip.

Amazing mountain adventure. Great views, wildflowers, and best of all no mud! Trail is well maintained and marked. Route scout did say that I was off trail numerous times though and I was clearly not. Not sure what was up with that. We went to both lookouts. The canyon overlook is my favorite. There is a black tailed rattler that has made his home at the end of trail on the cliff face of the sedona overlook. Not aggressive, but he is there. We took our time and enjoyed the view from the top. Someone with more motivation than us could get up and down much quicker.

Quick morning hike up around Daisy. We did not make it to the summit due to the heat. I would suggest a very early start in the summer (big surprise). Great trail.
