| no partners | | It 5:30pm on a Friday afternoon, temperature was 81 degrees. It was difficult for me to find the trail-head and I relied on the HAZ app to guide me until I was positive about my route. I found the trail fairly steep but not overly difficult. I did have to stop a few times for a moment to catch my breath. I hung out at the top for about 15 minutes and enjoyed the views.
My descent was slow and cautious. I slipped 3 times on loose dirt and rocks but never fell. I want to say it took me close to 35 minutes but I didn't time it.
I've been think about hiking Camelback Summit via Echo Canyon with some friends for a while now. But I've been hesitant because of my fear of about being too slow for the group. So I searched South Mountain trails for something similar to gauge the ascent difficulty. Warrior Trail appeared to be fairly close in AEG and distance. I think I'll be able to handle it soon enough. |
