WE did an out and back. We did go a little bit down the Hackberry springs trail but decided to turn back due to some bees. Other than that, the second water trail was really nice easy hike. It was a nice day and we decided to go in the middle of the day.

This was a beautiful hike. There was a lot of different flowers, lots of grasshoppers and dragonflies. We found a little shelter home in the boulders. It was humid and the water seemed a little low.

This hike was a lot of fun but the first 2 miles were all up hill. It levels out once you get over the saddle and into the valley of mountains. There was a lot of snow patches still on the mountains. We saw a lot of Marmots hanging out. The lake still had ice on it and wild flowers lined the trail and the little creek from the snow melt.

First hike in this area and I was very pleased. I only went up to the meadow pass the trees but that had a great view of the mountains. There was a lot of people that day on the trail. There were some wild flowers as well.

I wanted to get out of the phoenix heat for the day so I decided to take my father on a little adventure. We hiked down to the tunnel which was very rocky. When we got to the tunnel there was a lot of graffiti. When I started the hike I thought i picked a place I had never been but once I saw the tunnel I realized that I hiked up to it from Washington Park last fall. Either way my dad was hesitant on taking the trail back and decided to create a new route going straight up over the tunnel. We scrambled up the mountain for a mile. We finally got to the road and walked back to the car. By the time the hike was done it was around noon and it was starting to get hot.

It was a beautiful day. I did a easy hike with my dad. We went up to the Fay Canyon Arch. There was a family of crows living on in the rocks. I didn't bring my zoom lens so I lost an opportunity to take a picture of the babies. Than we went to the end of the trail. We turned right and followed the dry wash and found some ruins at the end. We went fairly early so there was not as many people. There was no one at the ruins or the arch.

When we started the hike at gateway trailhead. There was an overcast and a bit chilly. The wildflowers were blooming. We had a pretty good pace going the whole time. The sun came out once we hit windgate pass and it got warmer. As we were heading back from bell pass we saw more wildflowers and the sun went back behind the clouds. There were a lot more people on the trail on the way back to the gateway trailhead.

I decided to try out the Massacre Falls Loop. I dragged my mom and her husband along for the hike. We started at the first water trail head at about 6:30 in the morning. There was a nice breeze that morning and it was clear skies. It was around the 60's I believe when we started. We got off the track a few times. We added about a mile and a half because of that. With my mad navigation skills we found our way back and safely to Massacre Falls. When we got to massacre falls there was not much water running off it but it was enough to make the trip worth it. On our way back to the car we found a old car door randomly in the middle of the desert near the old jeep road we were on  . We finished the hike around 12 o clock. It was getting hot by that time so we were glad to make it to the car when we did.

It was partly cloudy and it was cold. I went up the trail to take pictures of Mushrooms but decided to go to the Bomber wreckage site to take some pictures. It was eerily quiet there and it didn't help my uneasiness when a giant cloud blocked out the sun right when I got to the wreckage. :scared: I ended up heading back after I took a couple of pictures. There were not that many people on the trail that day so it was really nice.

We arrived at the trailhead that was off forest road 139a to Pinchot cabin. It was about 10 am in the morning when we started to hike. It was cloudy and at one point it looked like it was going to snow. It was around 40 degrees. It could have been colder. There was no one on the trail except my dad and I and it was a very quiet hike through the forest. We found the Aspen spring cabin just fine and I stayed around there for 10 to 15mins. We found kept finding remains of some animal around one area. We are assuming it is one animal since they were all in the same vicinity. We did find a piece of a jaw that we believe belongs to a bear but we could be wrong. We did hike up the trail pass aspen springs a couple of miles before heading back to the car.

We started at the Barnhardt trail head. This hike was with the meet up group Arizona Desert Hikers. The idea was to head down the trail to a waterfall that was about 2.5 to 3 miles from the trail head. The weather was in the range of 23 degrees to 40 degrees on the trail and snow was present. Once we got to the waterfall it was barely going. It did have a few icicles hanging around the grotto. There was also a large puddle of water that was frozen over. Overall it was a good out and back hike and was really picturesque with the layers of snow on the trails.
