Re: What's the best GPS?
Thanks Joe for the information. I am planning to backpack sections of the AZT this summer, and wanted to make sure I don't get lost. But I will still keep a paper map handy, just in case!

Re: What's the best GPS?
Ok so most of you use the Garmin 450t Oregon? I like to use it for when I am on the AZT, so I know where the heck I am going!! lol I have never used a GPS and have no idea what to get.

I might join in on this. I like the idea of bringing a hammock. Do you bring something else just in case it rains? I don't hammock camp, I tent camp so didn't know if it would rain from monsoons or not.

Re: Fellow HAZers
I am interested in attending, it would be great to place faces with names, besides photos. I am a bit confused, which is not unusual of me, when and where? I vote for a potluck, and pulled pork. I would be happy to bring Chilean Wine to keep warm

I did this hike on the same day, but started at 8 a.m. I am glad they finally labeled the trails. I only hiked about 3.5 miles, since I was out all week due to illness. It felt good to get out and hike and see the flowers along the trail. I love this area!

I would be interested, but how are we suppose to hike back after having wine? I might stumble or get lost! Oh wait, I do that anyways, never mind!
I love wine and cheese. Let me know!

Re: Collins to the San Juan?
Maybe too much. I remember last year we got to KGRS and they showed us a picture from the bottom of Collins. Wall-to-wall flowing brown water. Thankfully we got down into Collins and there was only a little bit here and there... That was a fun trip! And that water was freezing cold going through th...

YEs this was a fabulous trip. It was great to see CindyL again, meeting John and his sense of humor and Sue, as she past me on the trails. Thanks to everyone for a great trip!!! I am ready to go back, when the weather gets warmer. It sure was a cold day yesterday!
