Mount Baldy - Problem Bear

Post by hiking_arizona »

Heard from USFS that AZ Game & Fish is monitoring for possible problem bear reported off [ Mt Baldy Crossover Trail ] by backpacking couple who lost a pack to a bear while camped near Lee Valley Lake.

AZ Game & Fish would like to be notified in general of any unusual bear encounters.

One of the camp hosts over at Bog Springs told me to watch out. There was one bear in particular that was stirring things up.

@SpiderLegs Now that’s a problem bear, terrorizing the white mountains and Tucson, something tells me he is getting help, I suspect there may be an accomplice....

@SpiderLegs
Oh, yeah, sorry about that. That picnic was just too tempting to pass on. I still need to log that trip.

Actually, I think the OP was referring to the baldy in the White Mountains.
