White Canyon Wilderness Campout and day hikes

Let's camp and hike March 8 (evening) through March 10! We will car camp and then do a few day hikes. Martinez Canyon, The Spine, The Rincon, and/or White Canyon are on the list of things to do.

The Tucson crew will leave Friday afternoon around 2 or 3 PM.

Camping information is from CannondaleKid (big thank you): The camp I've selected is just off Battle Axe Road and 'behind' and south of Battle Axe and is quite large. See Option 3 (hover over the camps to see the names) on the map he created http://hikearizona.com/map.php?MY=3178&M=3

I see remarks where it say car acceptable when dry. However, high clearance is probably advisable.

It's been brought to my attention that there is a spot on the road in which you probably do want to have high clearance.

Hi Belinda - I'd be very interested to join this trip. I have some construction going on at my place starting Monday, though, so can't commit 100%. Really interested in Martinez Canyon/Mine/Ruins. I'm at stansber@as.arizona.edu (don't use HikeAZ that much, but post-back is fine, too).

Slight change to the schedule, since the forecast is for rain on Friday night we are going to leave town at 7:00 AM on Saturday and meet others at the campsite at 9:30 AM. We'll reserve our camp and then go hiking!
