North Maricopa Mountains Loop

The Eagle has another wedding function. If a few or more tag along I'll hit a 16ish mile loop I have planned for the Maricopas SW of the Sierra Estrella Range. Rather easy, except a large portion is off trail. Poppies were decent a week ago.

Yes the west siide TH.
East & South motorized access to the wilderness is temporarily closed.
Borderland travel precautions are in place.
Prison west of the wilderness.
Fleeing north is allowed but there is a shooting closure.
Curb excitement, wilderness limits apply.

I was thinking of camping out there this weekend. That's a nice little campground next to the trailhead. Good to be alert though. A lot of hungry coyotes and rabid foxes last time I was there.

Margie's Cove West Trailhead 7:30am

I'll message the route to committed Fri evening.
It's under 1k aeg, approx 16 mi, 40% off trail.
Feel free to hike more, less or just show up without committing.
Prob 7-8 hr hike. I'll be leaving no later than 4pm as I live in a bad neighborhood, it's not safe to enter after dark.
