Sightings/Encounters?

Post by chumley »

First off, let me make my opinion known: I personally find this to be really amusing. Either some people have very vivid imaginations and no understanding of wildlife, or I'm jealous of where they get whatever they're on.

But I accidentally came across this website and since most HAZ members have spent plenty of time in many of the areas listed, I thought I'd post a link. You may find the same amusement I did, or perhaps you can corroborate a story?

http://www.bfro.net

Seems like Bigfoot likes Coconino and Apache counties the most.
I wonder (but not enough to search for it) if there's a similar site for Chupacabra sightings? :yikes:
I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

I was doubtful at first but this clears it up.
Overall, this is a very compelling sighting and the witness was both genuine and credible.
I like how you can filter the results so you don't have to wade through B & C results and get right to the genuine and credible A results. Awesome!

My friend Greg has a story about the "Mogollion Monster" that he tells every time we camp. Some scary story that his boy scout troop leader told him when he was a kid, then he heard the monster that same night. Probably nothing, but he is a very god story teller nonetheless.

We need to get some HAZ members out there to take some nice clear pictures, instead of something that looks like the product of a 1990s-era cell-phone camera. It might have to be featured as the cover of the 2008 HAZ Calendar... :D

Or perhaps the 30 motion/heat-sensing cameras that have identified 3 or 4 jaguars in Arizona over the past few years will photograph something more interesting?

I remember the stories they told at Camp Geronimo and then they took us out to hike the Cat Eye trail at night. :scared:

WEll, if anyone wants to have a interesting hike w/pack including a possible night time visit with the Big guy give me a msg. I was a skeptic on the whole subject on BF but after seeing a very tall brown bipedal that was not in any know animal list in AZ I now think there are either feral people still out there or the MM really exist.

I saw a large unidentified object when I was hiking in the South Fork-Gold Ridge area. Unfortunately, it was Wally.
Down here in Northern California the mood w/ respect to our friends the sasquatches is much more ambivalent. There are a bunch of books on the subject available at most book stores, and a lot of people actually claim to believe in its existence. Of course there is an extreme lack of firearms here (unlike Arizona) so it's not surprising that one hasn't been brought down. I'll get one eventually.

Apparently some guy in Texas tracked and killed Bigfoot and is now taking him on tour around the country, and/or making a movie about the whole thing! :o

In the extremely unlikely event that the whole story is made up as clickbait  , I'll refrain from linking to it here. But it's been in the news lately. Fascinating photos and interesting reading if you let the "don't be evil" people lead you there.
