Primula parryi

Common Names:
Habitat: Alpine, subalpine. Streamsides, wetlands. It can tolerate considerable shade and requires an evenly moist soil.
Flowers: The flower stems arise to 16" with a relatively large cluster of brilliant magenta flowers.
Description: leafy with elongate, smooth, leathery leaves.
Comments: It is probably the most widely available North American native primula. Lightly touching the plant will bring out a most unpleasant fetid odor.

The primula rusbyi and the primula parryi have no genetic difference, so we will use this designation for both.
