There was a meadow of beauiful wildflowers in the cemetery yard.
Just a sampling of some of the wildflowers we would see during our visit to Texas. And if you're wondering, yes, I would get to see the Blue Bonnets. The top photo has Pink Ladies and Texas Dandelions. The bottom photo is Texax Paintbrush (Castilleja indivisa - Entireleaf Indian paintbrush) and we saw A LOT of that during our drives.
FYI Pyrrhopappus carolinianus, commonly called Carolina desert-chicory, or Texas dandelion is in the genus Pyrrhopappus of the family Asteraceae, native throughout Eastern and South Eastern United States. It is an annual found in mostly open grasslands and wet roadsides.
