FDR's Stagecoach, the "Tally -Ho"
This Concord model stagecoach was built in the late 1800s. Nicknamed the "Tally-Ho", it was used for many years to transport visitors to and from nearby towns and railroad stations to the Merriwether Inn near Warm Springs, Georgia. When FDR bought the resort, this coach was a part of the property.
In 1928, after being elected Governor of New York, staff and patients drove the stage in a triumphal parade. In later years, the "Tally-Ho" was used for parades in Warm Springs until it went on permanent display.
