another look at Stanley and Coco. It's hard to photograph through a cage. When Maria had them in Sanibel, they were in a covered outdoor space and she could let them out. They are very reactive birds and will dance and move their heads up and down to the beat of music or clapping hands. African grey parrots are highly intelligent and are considered by many to be one of the most intelligent species of psittacines. Many individuals have been shown to perform at the cognitive level of a four- to six-year-old human child in some tasks.
