intricate little buds and flowers on this beauty! So darn cute.

Vaccinium reticulatum, also known as "ʻŌhelo ʻai" in Hawaiian, is a native Hawaiian shrub that grows on the Big Island, also known as Hawaiʻi Island. It's one of several endemic species of ʻōhelo, a genus of flowering plants in the Heath family (Ericaceae). ʻŌhelo is particularly common on the Big Island, especially in areas with recent volcanic activity like lava flows and ash deposits.
