Soggy! I ordinarily don't care to hike in rain, but I wasn't going to waste a chance to visit the Monument this evening. The road past the visitor center was closed due to snow, so I hiked Rhyolite Canyon Trail from the visitor center up a little ways onto Sarah Deming Trail. Bonita Creek was roaring, and little waterfalls poured from cliffs. Low clouds covered the top of Rhyolite Canyon, and a steady drizzle never relented. Up on Sarah Deming, an inch of snow from earlier in the day slowly dissolved in the rain. Full rain gear kept me dry, and it ended up being a great experience.
