Matt, Tiffany, and I hiked the big loop from Echo Canyon trailhead in the Chiricahua NM to the Ed Riggs Trail out to Inspiration Point, then down Mushroom Rock Trail to the Big Balanced Rock Trail. We made the side trip around the Heart of Rocks Loop to see the famous landmarks, then around Sarah Deming trail back on Upper Rhyolite Trail to Echo Park.

We camped at Bonita Springs campground, which was really nice with heated bathrooms (no showers though). It was a bit chilly in the tent as the overnight dropped to 25 degrees! Chiricahua NM has a $5 entry fee per person, and $12 camping fee. Well worth the trip, it only took us 3.5 hours to get there from Chandler (going the speed limit). Many people became worried when I told them how far South, and close to the border we were going. At no time did I ever feel concerned about our safety, especially in the park.
