| no partners | | Arrived at the parking lot around 9:30 AM to find only two other cars. No snow until we crossed the Sandy river. We took the loop counter clockwise. The snow on the trail wasn't too bad but it makes the going uphill a little more difficult. Once we made it to the cut-off for the falls, the snow got deeper. Probably at least a foot deep. Arrived at the falls to find we had all to ourselves. Very nice. Pretty of places to eat lunch. As we were finishing up two more couples showed up. One couple was in short-sleeves and shorts! It was nice in the sun but I'm not sure it was that warm! With the snow though you definitely needed sunglasses. Mt. Hood gave us some nice views but never a fully un-obstructed view. Eventually we'll take a hike where we get a crystal clear view with no clouds. A lovely hike nonetheless. |
