Rolled into the Bridge of the Gods trailhead around noon. the wildflowers are starting to come out in full force. Another week or two and it shoudl really be nice. There is noticeable freeway noise at the start but with the nice weather we couldn't complain. Met a few folks on the way in but had the falls to ourselves when we arrived just before 1 PM. While it may not be as famous as some of the other Gorge waterfalls, it is no less beautiful. Very nice indeed. With the shortness of the hike, it's definitely one we'll take friends/family on when they visit. As we left the falls we passed a group of about 10 or people. We saw several other parties on the way back. Will have to think about combining this with a hike of Herman Creek in the future (assuming we get an earlier start). All in all, a can't miss hike for the Gorge area! |
