| no partners | | With Kachina Peaks Wilderness closed due to the Schultz Fire, I decided to hike Wilson Mountain in Sedona. I hadn't been up here in many years and not since the fire.
The destruction from the fire is sad but was as I expected. The biggest impression was the growth of the underbrush. The Gambel Oak and New Mexican Locust has come in strong - at times obfuscating the trail. Moderate wildflowers today.
This is a great hike with great views. I hiked around up on top of Wilson Mountain - huge area up here.
Drove back on Schnebly Hill Road and poked around Game Management Unit 6. Got a flat tire so I lost the motivation to head up on Munds Mountain. That will wait for another day. |
