| no partners | | Another no fly day and done with work by 9am. Sweet! After dinner decided to go east below the Seawall. Two days ago I went west and the entire walk was on large slabs of granite with no beach which was pretty difficult walking for two miles. The wall is about 20 feet high and even higher in some places. There is evidence all around of the damage it received from hurricane Ike two years ago. The wall, according to the interpretive signs, was built after the hurricane of 1900 which according to the plaques was the worst or one of the worst natural disasters in US history. Over 6000 people were killed. The variety of terrain along the seawall makes for an interesting walk. There are large stones as well as sand to navigate. The sand is very dense and easier to walk on than other beaches I have been on. Good Times! I'm getting kind of spoiled by work this hitch. Guess I'm going to have to enjoy it while it lasts. |
