Met John at his place 4:38 darn those red lights. Anyway he provided an extra treat home roasted coffee. The dirt road was not too bad, but the ruts necessitated a high clearance vehicle. We were both surprised by the number of ocotillo blooming. The trail started to ascend after the sign in. Our extra distance and elevation was due to going past the end of the trail and following another trail to get a look at the north side and to get views in all directions thinking there might be more blooming things on the north side. Not the case. Oh yeah and John thought he would leave his GPS at the lunch spot so we did an extra loop for that as well. All was well and he found it. :y:

It was warm going up with a distinct lack of breeze. We were blessed with a nice breeze on the way down. I did see something on this trip that I have never seen. A spray painted saguaro :gun:

I'm not sure the purpose, but I found it distasteful. Good Hike and company. Thanks John for the invite even though I know you invited me for my 4x4. :sl:
