| no partners | | | Matt K, Rob N, and I teamed up to run the Paatuwaqatsi 50K as a 3-man relay team put on by the Hopi Nation near Second Mesa, AZ. I started the race and ran my 10-mile segment through some pretty rugged terrain consisting of sandy washes, rocky switchbacks, and the toughest part of all was the two climbs onto and through the mesa (I believe this is where the oldest continuous settlement in the US stands). The scenery was breathtaking and being invited onto the sacred Hopi land made this race very special. All three of us put up a good fight and managed to pull off the win in a time of 4:32. |
