I was almost dissuaded by the downpour encountered on the early morning drive to the TH. In the dark it was impossible to determine depth of the overcast sky, but by the time I reached the Marina cool breezes prevailed and it turned into an excellent morning for viewing wandering highlights and shadows all the way to the horizon in any direction. The trail was sufficiently moistened to hold down the dust, but still dry enough to be comfortable. Unfortunately, the rainfall had not been sufficient to create those short-lived waterfalls that turn the Supes into a wonderland.
