The trail is ideal for jogging, despite a few washes. it connects with enough other trails that you can hike/jog for as long as you like. Didn't see any wildlife, but the desert fauna was beautiful. Trail is OK for dogs -- it's wide enough in most places that your canine companion can be by your side and it is not heavily used. Watch out for the cacti though. The Cholla are prevalent, especially towards the end of the Meridain. Today I combined the Meridain with the Cats Paw Pass, Cats Paw Peak, Amigos Wash and the NightHawk Wash Trails. This may sound like a lot but round trip was under 5 miles. |
