Took the most direct route to the top, from the southern side. There were two levels, or "flattish sections", where I could regroup and plan my path of ascent. The south side might look fairly steep, but there was quite a bit of exposed slabs of rock that provided a solid surface for the climb. Nice views from the top, though I didn't see any register. Descended along the western side of the peak. The angle wasn't as bad, but the scree was worse so I am not sure if the route was much better. Still, about 1/3 of the way down I came to a nice gradual descending ridgeline with some nice rock formations, that made the rest of the hike enjoyable. Neat little scramble. No wildlife, no other hikers. But I was surprised to see that Old Kingman Highway had quite a few vehicles parked along its shoulder RV/car camping.
