Decided to board the "wagon" a second time. After doing Chuckwagon, drove over to the Huckaby TH and headed up Munds Wagon Trail. I didn't do any prepping for this, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. It started off fairly open/exposed, crossing Schnebly Hill Rd a couple of times. And then it dropped down into a wash and stayed down there for a couple of miles. Views were limited, but it was very pretty down there. The trees offered quite a bit shade, giving an intimate feeling and helped obscured the road which parallels this trail. The wash was dry today (with the exception of a few puddles) but I imagine this would be a great place to be during the wet season. There were a couple of picnic tables about 1.5 miles which would be a great place to enjoy the day (and water, when it is present). There were several nice dry falls, which I'm sure would be beautiful in season and a nice red rock slide area (50 yards in length) that I'm sure is an accident zone when wet. The trail actually offers an equestrian detour around this area because of the potential falls. I wasn't checking my Garmin for this, but I want to say around 2.2 miles I crossed Schnebly Hill Rd again and then shortly after came to the Cow Pie Trail. I thought briefly of doing this - in the distance, I could see people standing on the the "cow pie" - but I decided to stay on course. From this point on it is a steady climb to the end of the trail. Not too steep, but constant, rocky and exposed. This exposure allows for some great view though. You get a nice view of Sedona to the west framed by the mountains. The only noteworthy part about this last section of trail is the Merry Go Round. It is a red rock spire sitting on a flat limestone base that the trail circles. Very distinct. You'll know it when you see. It's pretty much in your vision from Cow Pie on. The trail ends at Schnebly Hill Rd. Across the road Schnebly Trail begins. I walked up this trail to the first switchback, just to see what was on the other side of the northern mountain that had paralleled my hike. Noticed an info board across the road. It gives some information about Munds Wagon and the Cow Pie Trails. On the return trip, met a hiker named Greg who is a winter resident of Sedona and knows the area pretty well. Made for good conversations and a seemingly fast descent.

Notes: Saw a 3ft snake, with yellow and black stripes that slithered off as soon as I saw it. Schnebly Hill Rd is very active with ATV'ers and jeeps so be prepared to have that as a constant companion.
