| no partners | | I don't remember what routes we did. Started with a 5.7 and 5.8 right at the pond and then moved down the wall further where I met a very familiar dog. Funny recognizing the dog right off (from the Peaks trip a couple weeks ago), but I couldn't figure out who the owner might be. I liked the climbing, although the volcanic rock was rough on my fingers. Practiced open-hand gripping instead of crimping when I could. My shoes loved this rock, and feet were everywhere even when there were no feet!
This trip marks my timid return to "the Zen". Despite current events and an aggravating psychological insult when we first arrived, I was able to clear my head and focus only on my movement and technique. I'm hoping this will continue to carry over so that I can once again attempt a multipitch. Great day of climbing. |
