| no partners | | I thought with all the rain on Saturday, I might find water flowing along the trail to the saddle, but, as luck would have it, no water was flowing. The pools on the flat expanse of rock, were full but there was very little sign that much water had even been flowing since the rains. I guess that the dry spell wanted to be quenched and all the water soaked into the ground. At least the plants are looking greener now.
It had been quite muddy along the horse trails and I was debating whether to continue on up to the saddle, but then the clouds thickened and the rains started again. That was the decision maker and I turned around and headed back to the car.
It didn't look like it was going to clear up again so I headed back home, lit a fire in the Webber and settled back to watch the Datona 500 and bar-b-que some brisket. Yep, salvaged part of the day. |
