| no partners | | Well this is my first triplog, but I have been lurking for quite a while, well here goes. I had done this before but it was about 25 or 30 years ago with my boy scout troop and while up top I thought there was some airplane wreck we looked at back then (which I just googled and found out there was http://www.aviationarchaeology.com/T38A.htm) wish I would of done that before, that will give me something to do next time. I'm sure I made much better time back then but I enjoyed talking to the people on the trail and on the flatiron once I made it. It was very windy up there so I didn't get to close to the edge but I did enjoy the views as I fed and watched the chipmunks. Wasn't planning on hitting the peak but it's so close I had too. It didn't take long just follow the cairns, it sure wasn't a very strait trail but it did get me to the top and very interesting walking through the hoodoos. No one came up while I was up there so I had it to myself, and I enjoyed the solitude but knew it would just be getting warmer for the downhill so I gathered up my things and headed back down. I had a nice breeze most of the way down so it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be but glad I got this done when I did. |
