| no partners | | I usually like to start early on a hike over 25 miles. I woke up any 330am and the temp was my daughters age and she's still a teenager. I sat there and decided I'd wait an hour. Then at 6am I decided I'd drive to Jacob's Lake for breakfast.
Hiking on....I started at 7am and it was 23 degrees. Its funny I was shaking and thought of Joe on Cactus to Clouds. It was freakin cold walking thru the pine forest. I jumped a couple of deer but later would run into the motherlode. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRM_zJ0mcUM
It was a variety of pines until I dropped down to Goverment Reservoir and the shrubs. The hike back all I could think of was the soup I would prepare for lunch....and so concludes the first portion of this hike....18.4 miles of the 32.9
Part 2 started after lunch and a drive back to Goverment Reservoir. This portion of the hike was almost totally flat walking thru pines with shrub meadows mixed in. I fixed 2 gates and 3 or 4 signs. The after glow from the sunset was topnotch. Except for about 30 some odd miles...I've hiked from Sunflower to Utah. |
