The way in sometimes requires a high clearance vehicle so we took Amy's Jeep just in case. Currently a passenger car could make it okay but if it rains forget it.
This trail was great! Following along a flowing creek is something I always enjoy. Then once up top the views really open up in ALL directions. There is a short little trail that goes up to the Summit of Pine Mountain off of the Verde Rim Trail. If in the area take the side trip up. It will cost you 5 minutes but WOW it was awesome up there. Snow capped Humphreys was off to the North, Mazatzal Peak was just as clear as day to the South-East as was 4 Peaks. We could even see the Superstition Ridgeline and Weavers Needle.
My only complaint on this one is the number of cow patties along the way. It's very important to keep an eye on the trail for sure! Otherwise this one is a gem that I would like to do again as a summer get away from the desert heat.
Thanks Amy for another great hike and for bringing the jeep. Good Hike Tugger! Way to keep Sun Ray on his A Game! |
