Continuing to work on the hundred Hikes Book I headed down to do a little border hiking with my Buddy Merrill. We did the Sycamore Canyon Hike all the way down to the fence and I even stepped over into Mexico for a minute. It was very clear to see that this is a well traveled passage into the States for immigrants. Backpacks, empty water bottles and used canned goods were found here and there.

On our way out it had gotten dark and we were met by 3 Border Patrol Guys about a half a mile from the trailhead. Apparently we were spotted coming up the river bed by a thermo scope. It was kinda cool really! The hike was good but would have been better if we had a little more time and if there was more water in the river along the way.
