| no partners | | looking for another nice place to camp out, we tried Kinder Crossing. we got there saturday morning and the parking lot was full, after hiking down the steep trail with backpacks and dogs. We reached the bottom. After going the wrong way for awhile we found the trail to the left, we bushwacked some more and finally found the main camping area. There we saw about 25 boy scouts and 12 parents, we found a nice campsite and set up. The valley was very pretty, we found lots of firewood. We saw some woodpeckers, a bald eagle, and a large owl. The boy scouts were well behaved, the next day we had a nice day and raced the scouts back up the hill. If the boy scouts weren't there we would have had the entire place to ourselves. maybe next time, oh and it got really cold at night, we only brought light fleece sleeping bags, and the water in our nalgenes froze over night!! |
