I had passed this TH hike numerous times making the drive from Hwy 87 down FR95 to my FR139G car-campsite, but had never done this short, enjoyable hike down to East Clear Creek Canyon to take-in the water, beach, and canyon views. I was kind-of expecting a trashed area at the bottom, but was very pleasantly surprised to find how everyone who enjoys the nice family and individual- backpack camp areas, picnic areas, beach areas, and numerous swimming holes has taken care to not leave any traces. I was a little surprised to find this place to myself on a Friday morning, but this just made this short hike more enjoyable for a few pictures.
From what I saw this day, I would definitely recommend this hike as a great family RIM day outing location and even more enjoyable if you like to get wet and enjoy eating crawdads.. http://www.hikearizona.com/phoZOOM.php?ZIP=100279
Please see my posted pic set/captions and posted GPS Route/notes for more hike details. |
