| no partners | | Returned a couple weeks after my first and last trip here to check on the wildflowers and play with my new camera. There were areas of dense wildflowers, it was a really lovely way to spend a few hours.
I ran into a couple deer and a coyote, plus a handful of mountain bikers and two people with dogs. Surprisingly few people for a really nice Saturday afternoon.
And if this isn't mentioned somewhere else, the stand of saguaros on the trail to the right when you enter the park is amazing. If you opt to go left instead, you'll soon be greeted with very nice views of Tucson (a place to come back for sunrise). I wasn't able to hike the black rock loop because I underestimated my penchant for squatting in front of flowers for dozens of minutes at a time, but I've now hiked all the legs except for that one and each has its charms. |
