| no partners | | I have no idea what is wrong with the spoiled people who live in Arizona, but I'm thankful they aren't like me. I decided to take advantage of this absolutely wonderful weather and go hiking today. It was 47 degrees when I left the house after 10am, and didn't get any warmer. A few light rain showers that never required an extra layer, and a couple of bursts of graupel made for a uniquely unusual South Mountain hiking experience. It's amazing to me that the parking lot was nearly empty and I could count the people I saw on my two hands. These days are rare here, and are meant to be enjoyed!
I started at the Pima Canyon TH and headed out on the West Pima trail, then ascended on the Mormon trail, a short stretch on the National, before heading into Hidden Valley. I returned on the National Trail, and with a slight blister beginning to make itself known, I decided to just cruise home the last 1.2 miles on the old boring roadbed. To give you an idea of how few people were out there, I saw 2 bikers and passed two hikers in that last 1.2 miles on the road. That's it! On a Sunday in March. Oh well. Your loss is my gain! |
