| no partners | | | Started from some condos we were staying on just off 48th St. Left in the dark at about 5:30 am. Went up Beverly Canyon and got lost a few times in the dark as this was my first trip to South Mountain. I thought I would be running a lot more than I did but between the darkness and the trail being a lot rougher and harder to follow in the dark than I thought, I was pretty slow. Eventually hooked up with Pima Wash, which was my plan and continued on to National trail which I enjoyed. Hit the Mormon Trail and went about half way down before turning around. Took the Mormon Loop and intersected with Javelina Trail to get back to the condo. Though I was slow, enjoyed by first trip to South Mountain and will go back and check out some of the western trails some time. Perfect temperatures this morning. |
