Great day for hiking. Thin clouds, overcast, occasional filtered sun, car read 86 degrees at around 1pm.
Easy hike. The decent into Boulder Canyon on the 2nd Water trail is the only place that there is really any noticible elevation change at all. Boulder Canyon feels flat the whole way, and the climb to Parker Pass is very temperate. As is the decent back to the trailhead.
I had no problems with routefinding in Boulder Canyon as some previous triplogs indicate. Every crossing is well-cairned, and anytime you hit the creek, if you take a direct 90-degree route across, you are sure to find the trail on the other side. Keep your eyes open, it's easy!
Encountered a beautiful Gila Monster in the middle of the trail. Was around a tight corner and startled the crap out of both of us! |
