I did this as a pre-hike for a future Sierra Club hike that I'll lead. The weather was perfect and the arch was awesome. All the views from the top of Palomino Mtn are spectacular! I went back another way and visited one of the largest saguaros I know of. I had seen it way in the distance on a hike last year and have wanted to hike to it ever since. What an enormously magnificent specimen! I could have stayed there for an hour just admiring this beauty. I have not seen this one listed in the National or Arizona Register - I may submit it. Great day and wonderful company : )
