| no partners | | I was honored to be invited on this "off-calendar" hike with a small group of wonderful folks from Arizona Outdoor & Travel Club (AOTC). Thanks Don for inviting me, and Tom for leading a magnificent hike and having me along : )
We did a variation of the listed hike. After a vehicle was dropped at Peralta TH, we started the hike at Hieroglyphic TH. After hiking in on the Hiero Trail we continued up the canyon until reaching the Ridgeline Trail, a very challenging grade. Then we continued over to the top of Carney Springs Trail (West Boulder Canyon Trail). Crossing over the saddle we headed off-trail toward Robber's Roost, a sweet spot that few have visited. Then came our first views of Weaver's Needle as we made our way to Fremont Saddle. Crossing over the saddle we took the Cave Trail down to Bluff Springs Trail, and then on to Peralta TH where we shuttled back to Hiero.
Another great hike in the Superstitions! How blessed are we to have this magnificent wilderness in our backyard : )
