| no partners | | Saw this area on a wildlife website. It was 62 miles one way from North Phoenix and of course got a late start. I arrived around 0645 and was surprised when I opened my door. All I could here was dove....Prince would have been proud, doves were crying. In fact, the web says up to 5000 dove live here, before the September hunt
I saw the "ONE" endangered Yuma Clapper Rail and he took off before I could get a shot.
While crouching down, slapping the red army ants off my leg I looked up and a Bobcat was 30 yards from me and yes you guessed it..... he ran off before getting a shot, the story of my life
This area apparently burnt a few months ago, thanks to a genius farmer burning weeds in a 30 mph wind, so all of the large Salt Cedars are gone.
in the Winter up to 150 species of birds inhabit these ponds, I"ll be back. On the way home I stopped by Robbins Butte wildlife area....I milled around, but had a weird feeling about this area and swiftly left. Too many people with guns driving by  |
