What a majestic place, my heart and soul have been healed forever and my worries seem to melt away with every droplet of rain. Talk about birds, whoa! I was blessed to see and photograph some species for which I have never seen. For example: Bridled Titmouse, White Breasted Nuthatch, Hooded Oriole, Hepatic Tanager, Painted Red Start(no photo ), Lazuli Bunting, Blue Grosbeak.
Any serious birder should not miss this trip. After a long day of driving, I left North Phoenix at 0450 and arrived at Madera around 0700, I decided to stop at the famous El Charro Restaurant in Sahuarita, AZ for a much deserved Mexican dinner. I settled for the El Charro Taco(same recipe since 1922) and a big order of Guacamole.
Just before sunset, I went over to San Xavier Mission for some words, and sunset photos. This was a great start to a wonderful 3 day Man-cation Off to Cienega creek and Patagonia |
