I decided to try the Eastern/Northern version of this trail, though it may be a completely different one. This trail takes longer, and goes to higher elevation. See the photos for the location. This trail also starts from a bicycle loop off of the Desert Classic. There is a small group of elephant trees, the most I've seen in one location, as well as a wide variety of cacti along the ridge. There is a survey marker one one peak (is this the high point on the mountains?). The end merges with the National trail East of Buena Vista about 1/2 mile.
